Toms
River, NJ (October 21, 2005) – Perma
Pure LLC, a leader in gas
conditioning introduces the heated
MDH™-Series dryers.
These
compact units combine Nafion®
technology with a heating element to
dry hot, wet, sample gases prior to
analysis, increasing sample accuracy
and reducing damage to downstream
analysis equipment.
The
heated MDH-Series gas dryers were
specifically created to dry gas
samples with dew points higher than
ambient temperature, without
requiring additional heating or
insulation. Proprietary Nafion
technology selectively removes only
water from samples gases, leaving
the rest of the gas sample
unaffected. Unlike chillers and
condensers, Perma Pure’s MDH dryers
remove water directly from the vapor
phase, preventing the loss of
water-soluble gasses through
dissolution in condensate.
Designed
to handle gas flows of up to 1 lpm,
the heated MDH-Series gas dryers can
dry gases with as much as 30% water
by volume. To prevent condensation,
the built in thermostat controls
temperature throughout the drying
process. The sample inlet and the
first part of the dryer are heated,
keeping the gas hot until the water
is removed. As the gas dries, it
also cools, exiting the dryer with a
low dewpoint at ambient temperature.
Only electrical power and dry purge
air are needed for operation.
The
compact design can be incorporated
easily into analyzer cabinets or
used as a stand-alone device. The
dryers are available for use with
110 VAC, or 12 VDC. For more
