ME-Series  Disposal and Storage

Disposal procedures of Nafion tube dryers are similar to polyvinyl chloride (PVC) tubing. Two recommended procedures are solid waste disposal in landfill or incineration.  Incineration of Nafion produces an acid gas vapor which must be neutralized by scrubbing with an alkaline solution. The Nafion tube dryer can be packaged with PVC waste products for suitable disposal.

ME-Series dryers are very stable; however, they should be stored in sealed polyethylene film packages. It they are stored in unsealed packages, the tubing may change in color from a clear, colorless tube to a slightly yellow or light brown color. This color change will not reduce the drying efficiency. The color change is produced by the high chemical activity of the Nafion tubing to the presence of trace quantities of smoke and chemicals in the air.
