Some analyzers have the ME-Series Nafion dryer mounted inside the apparatus. These analyzers have liquid traps at the dryer inlet to remove any condensed water from the gas mixture. The efficiency of the dryers located in this position are not as good as those placed on the proximal side of the circuit. The increase in temperature inside of the apparatus raises the concentration in the sample gas. The air in the analyzer should have good circulation to assure that the water vapor concentration in the equipment is vented to the outside atmosphere and fresh air is continually passed through the apparatus. If the water vapor passing through the dryer is not removed efficiently, it will increase the water concentration in the sample gas. This reduces the dryer efficiency and will result in a wide variation of the data. If the dryer is placed inside of the instrument, it should be located in a cool zone away from heat generating components. The dryer must have air circulation around it so that the water vapor can pass out of the analyzer.
