FC400 Operating Specifications

  • Operating fluid pressure range (LP): 0 to 172 kPa ( 0 to 30 psig) @ 80°C (176°F)
  • Operating fluid pressure range (HP – 10″ only): 0 to 516 kPa ( 0 to 45 psig) @ 80°C (176°F)
  • Operating fluid temperature range: 1 to 80°C (33 to 176°F)
  • Maximum Pressure differential on tubing: 35 kPa (0 to 5 psid) @ 80°C (176°F)
  • Negative pressure differential will collapse tubing and must be avoided
  • Storage temperature range: -30 to 60°C (-22 to 140°F)

FC400 Materials of construction

  • Housing / Shell – GE Noryl
  • End caps – GE Noryl
  • Seals – EPDM (peroxide cured)
  • Tube bundle headers – Thermoset polyurethane
  • Membrane tubing – Nafion™ polymer

IMPORTANT – WARNING! Due to differing rates of expansion, metal fittings are not recommended. ABS or Nylon fittings are recommended. Additionally, DO NOT USE a thread sealant compound when attaching fittings to Perma Pure humidifiers, it is chemically incompatible with the assembly, leading to leaks (and voiding the warranty). Use Teflon tape instead.

* The performance information for the gas-to-gas units are expressed as the flow rate of air (slpm) in relation to the approach dew point temperature. The approach temperature is defined as the difference between the cathode exhaust stream entering the humidifier and the humidifier exhaust stream going to the stack. For example, with a FC400-2500-7LP, if the cathode exhaust dew point entering the humidifier is 67° at 435 slpm, the humidifier generates an output dew point of 61°C (approximately a 6°C difference from the cathode exhaust dew point).
